2013 is starting off pretty well!
I just got my offer letter from Earthlink. I will be starting on 1/14. So, one more week of freedom! I will be playing bingo on Friday to celebrate my new job! As much as I have enjoyed staying home with Seth these past few months, it is time to get back to work. I have no idea what my hours will be yet so I don’t know if I will have to put Seth in after school care or not. Hopefully I will learn that next week so I can get him enrolled. He is really looking forward to riding the white bus after school with his friends! I think he needs a break from mom all the time! lol
Wish me luck in learning networking. This should be very interesting. I can’t wait to get my “geek” on!
Merry Christmas (a little late) to all my friends and family that read my little blog. We had a wonderful Christmas up here in the PNW. It didn’t snow as predicted but that’s okay. We had a nice dinner with all Lebanese foods thanks to Suzanne.
Seth of course made out like a bandit. Between Santa, mom and dad and all the relatives, he will not need clothes or toys for a very long time! Thank you all for that!
On a sad note, my dad is still in rehab after a pretty bad stroke. If you could all pray for his recovery it would really help. Thanks!
To a better year, 2013.
This morning when I left the house there was snow on my car! It was snowing a little when I got home but it is not sticking. I don’t know how long this is supposed to last but I love it!
Nothing much new going on here. Today is Seth’s last day for the year. Winter break. I need to find something for us to do for sure!
All Christmas items are taken care of, just need to be wrapped. I had a sick kid all last week and did not get the chance. Hopefully I will get some done today.
Have a great day!
Well, last night I was sure that I had failed completely as a parent. I thought for sure, stopping the breathing treatments had come back to haunt me. Thankfully, I was wrong.
Seth was coughing a bit the last few days and he was very congested. At 1AM, his cough started to sound like a seal and he was having a hard time getting air in. I decided it was time to go to our neighborhood urgent care. I should have known, the minute we got in the cool air and in the truck, he started to breathe better and not cough as much that it was croup. Sure enough, it was just the airways, not his lungs that were the problem. Phew. So, today home from school and probably tomorrow too. Ironically enough, we have a doctor appointment on Thursday to meet his new doctor. It will be a nice follow up to the last few days events and see if he is getting better.
I also had to sign my life away to get the Children’s Sudafed that they ordered for him. Good grief, thanks to all the meth makers for that hoop I had to jump through. Jerks.
That is all for now, Seth is napping and taking it easy trying to get better. Not a lot of coughing today – let’s hope it stays that way!
Today is Saturday, December 1st. I went to Walmart and to the mall today. I survived, and the people around me survived. Amazing. Simply amazing.
Okay, so it has been a while since I lived in cold weather. I had forgotten that you need to start your car at least 15 minutes before you leave. One, for heat, two, to get the ICE off the windshield and all windows. Yes, I said ICE. I now have to purchase a scraper for each vehicle. Crazy.
For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you know that I finished my Christmas shopping! Woot! What I have not finished are the presents I am making. Hoping to have those done this week so I can get them shipped.
Today is decorate the house with Christmas stuff day. I told Seth that he gets to pick the place for the tree but that it had to be in the room with the fireplace so Santa won’t have to walk too far. He must be able to get in and out quickly so he can get to all the kids in the world.
Off I go to get some laundry done before I have to pick Seth up from school. Karate tonight with dad. He loves that dad goes with him now!
Windy, cold and raining. I LOVE it! This is what Washington is all about. I think I am going to make a fire tonight!
Getting ready for Thanksgiving. I will finish my shopping tomorrow. I am in charge of pies, cranberries and corn. Rob is in charge of dip. Easiest Thanksgiving I have had in a while. It will be at my house, I like that. Seth and I will be making Thanksgiving decor on Wednesday while he is off school. He painted an awesome turkey for the dinner table this weekend. He is very proud of it, and he should be. He did a really nice job!
Last night was family travel bingo night at Seth’s school. Rob, Scott, Suzanne and myself went with Seth. He thought it was so cool. He (we) won 4 times and he got 4 new books to add to his library! One of these days I will organize that thing. Someday.
Three day weekend coming up. I will be doing a lot of sewing/embroidery work this weekend. Looking forward to it. We also have dinner/bowling and game night on Saturday for Brian and Jen’s birthdays. Seth is looking forward to that a lot. He keeps asking if it is bowling night!
I have a full calendar this month but I had one date that was empty. Well, no longer! Science class is asking for kids to bring something in so they can learn more about “floating vs. sinking”. It is on the 14th. Phew. I was worried I didn’t have something to plan for on that day!
Today was an assembly at school today. I guess my son, some other kids in his class and his teacher got to silly string the principal during the assembly. It was all he wanted to talk about after school today. He kept saying how cool it was that he got to silly string his principal. It’s not like it was when I went to school. If we even saw the principal, we knew we were in trouble. This principal is pretty involved. He goes to all the school activities and knows most of the kids by name. My principal knew my name, but for different reasons!
Have a great holiday weekend and thank you for all of those who have served our country!
To my family and friends in Phoenix, It’s about time! Looks like the weather is finally going to cool off for you. Woot!
It was 41 degrees when I woke up this morning. (Not to brag, but really I am) I have to laugh at Seth when he keeps telling me, “mom, the fog is getting in my eyes!”. Too funny.
It is a nice clear day today, pretty rare this time of year I am told. So, after school I think we are going to clean house a bit, grocery shop then go to the park with his bike. We have to do this when we can!
Karate night last night. He is really sticking with it. I figured after a few classes he would get bored. He is still excited to go which is pretty cool. Also, making new friends outside of school helps too. We entered the raffle for his class and he gets some pretty cool sparring pads for it. Also a karate sweatshirt. I think that will be saved for Christmas! lol..
Hope all is well for whoever reads this. I hope someone does!
Well, I spent a few hours yesterday raking leaves. They are all in little piles around my back yard. Today, it’s raining like crazy and of course, more leaves are falling. UGH.
Tomorrow we are going to Rob’s work for a Halloween party for the kids. We get to trick or treat at the office. Seth is going to be Darth Vader. He is pretty excited about it. I just hope the rain lets up enough for us to get out and trick or treat at night without the use of an umbrella!
I have been busy making Christmas presents this year. It’s pretty cool. Hope I get them all done in time. Apparently, I think there are 40 hours in a day!
